About TGP

The Gathering Place, Brattleboro Vermont

The Gathering Place is a not-for-profit 501©(3)organization that has proudly served the elders and adults with disabilities residents of Windham County since 1989.  Our organization is a vital member of the community in which we live and the surrounding towns in our service area - Acton, Athens, Bartonsville, Bellows Falls, Brattleboro, Brookline, Cambridgeport, Dover, Dummerston, Grafton, Guilford, Halifax, Jacksonville, Jamaica, Londonderry, Marlboro, Newfane, Putney, Rockingham, Saxons River, Somerset, Stratton, Townshend, Vernon, Wardsboro, Westminster, Whitingham, Wilmington and Windham.  Seniors and adult disabled individuals of all ages, races, religions and socioeconomic status enjoy the benefits of the Center and its services every day.

The Gathering Place is located 30 Terrace Street in Brattleboro, which became our permanent home in 2002.  Brattleboro hugs the shore of New England’s largest river, the historic highway to the North Country, the Connecticut River.  Brattleboro’s allure and charm extend to the surrounding communities that are rich with friendly folks whose character is tied to the land. Together, they combine with Brattleboro to make a region of exceptional beauty - both man-made and natural.

The history of Brattleboro and Vermont is written by longtime residents and new comers alike.  But throughout its history, the state and town are tied to the beautiful land and the hard working people who have struggled to ultimately create one of America’s great treasures of culture and landscape.   Brattleboro and the State of Vermont also share one of the fastest growing populations of elders in the nation so programs like The Gathering Place are critical to meeting the ever-changing needs of our population.

The Gathering Place offers a myriad of activities designed to bring health, fun, laughter and companionship to the lives of our participants and peace of mind to their families.
